City Waits and Special Award winners

We are pleased to announce this year’s City Waits and Special Awards recipients as…

Khadijah Ahmed an 8 year old violinist with the Bristol Junior Strings Orchestra.   Katrina Bedford, a 15 year old violist and member of the Bristol Youth Orchestra and Bristol Cathedral Consort performing as a chorister for Bristol Cathedral Choir School. The last recipient of the Special Award is Maria MacVeigh who is 13 and a violinist playing with the Bristol Youth Chamber Orchestra.

This years City Waits recipients are Alice Rivers, a 16 year old, grade 8 cellist and oboist.  Alice performs in several school assembles at QEH and has formed her own quartet to perform at venues across the city she is also a member of Bristol Pre-Conservatoire.  Clara Sheratt,  who is 12 years old and a pianist achieving grade 8 distinction at 11 years old, winning numerous solo competitions she has also performed at our music centre concerts and for open doors day at Colston Hall.

The awards will be made on the 17th October at the Lord Mayors Mansion House and huge congratulations to all.  You can read more about what City Waits are here
