Bristol hosts premiere of Dream Land

Bristol Plays Music is excited to be hosting the premiere of Dream Land, being performed by the talented singers of the Bristol Youth Choir at their Christmas concert on the 6th December at St James Priory.

Dream Land is a song written by Bristol based composer John Barber, with words from a poem by Christina Rossetti. The piece was commissioned by Snape Maltings for the Friday Afternoons project and was written with the help of students from Eyke Primary School in Suffolk.

Friday Afternoons is a Snape Maltings led singing project connecting teachers and young people with contemporary composers, through creating high quality repertoire, resources and training to encourage challenging and exciting music making experiences for all.  Dream Land is their third song of 2019 and has been added to a repertoire of over 70 songs written for children, all resources for the song are available for free from the Friday Afternoons website.
