BPM and St. George’s, Bristol are teaming up for a fantastic cross-curricular concert for KS1 and KS2 pupils as part of our Sounds Inspiring Festival programme.
Come and watch the well-known children’s author and illustrator, James Mayhew, as he brings music to life painting scenes and characters inspired by a performance given by the amazing local pianist Claire Alsop.
Two concerts, suitable for children in KS1 and KS2 will allow children to discover how music can create pictures and colours in their imaginations as they watch James paint live on a projected screen, to the music.
James Mayhew, well-known for his Katie and Ella Bella books is passionate about the art of storytelling and painting to music whilst Claire is equally keen to share opportunities for children to experience fantastic music in international concert venues such as St George’s.
Music will be drawn from well-known classics and lesser known gems and will allow children to appreciate and understand a wide range of high quality live music drawn from great composers.
