As part of the Virtual Summer Academy, we premiere a series of 10 short films, recorded by our tutors sharing their Musical Journeys and showcasing different styles of music. Tune in on Bristol Plays Music’s YouTube Channel every day at 1pm to watch.
In this film we meet freelance classical violinist Siobhan Clough.
Siobhan is a freelance classical violinist. She performs in lots of different settings from classical orchestral concerts, educational workshops, quartet performances in London Tea Rooms to festivals. She began learning the violin in a little primary school in South Wales and with encouragement and support from her family, went on to study at Chethams School of Music and then to the Royal Academy of Music for her degree. She is now enjoying a varied and exciting career including playing regularly with disabled-led ensemble BSO Resound, at events like the BBC Relaxed Proms and an inclusive project called The Lost Thing at The Royal Opera House. She has even performed with Stormzy at Wireless Festival!
